隨著預告片釋出，導演馬克·安德魯斯（Mark Andrews）透露更多劇情內容。
故事設定在公元10世紀的蘇格蘭，有一個公主叫“瑪瑞達”（Merida），她有三個三胞胎弟弟。瑪瑞達個性像個男孩，喜歡舞刀弄槍，理想是當一名弓箭手。這與埃莉諾王后（Queen Eleanor）讓她嫁個好人家的意願相違背。母女之間爆發衝突。
一氣之下瑪瑞達做出了一個魯莽的決定，她聽信了女巫反派“女智者”（Wise Woman）的建議，給母親施了一個魔咒，想讓她不要再管自己的婚事，但沒想到魔咒讓母親變成了一頭熊……瑪琳達和無法預料的自然之力、黑暗魔法、古代詛咒抗爭著，要讓一切重回正軌……
魔咒森林 神箭公主(Brave)是皮克斯首部以女性為主角的動畫片，由動畫短片《許願池》（One Man Band）的導演馬克·安德魯斯（Mark Andrews）執導，與執導過《埃及王子》（The Prince of Egypt）的女導演布倫達·查普曼（Brenda Chapman）聯合導演。
